Christmas Open House at Historic Harmony Hall
Historical Harmony Hall Museum, located at 109 E. King St. Kinston, will host Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 2-4 PM. The Master Gardeners of Lenoir County, Dirt Daubers Garden Club and Lenoir County Cooperative Extension Service will have the oldest house in Kinston, decorated in a typical modest fashion of its historical period for Christmas. Light refreshments will be severed. A bake sale and raffle will be conducted. The house was built in 1772, 4 years before the American Revolution. Richard Caswell, Revolutionary War hero and NCs first elected governor, once owned the house and for a brief time it became the state’s capital, housing important records and accounts. The home has been restored and is open to the general public. Admission is free.
